Blimps Will be Used by Google to Bring Internet to Africa And Rural Areas

Google is preparing to develop high-speed wireless communities in sub-Saharan Africa with the aid of high-altitude balloons that may transfer signals across hundreds of square kilometres.
The web research company is already working high-speed fibre communities in Utah, Mo and Texas. Now it needs for connecting 1 billion more people to the web in emerging markets such as Africa and south-east Asia, and is ready to team up with telecoms firms and gear providers to construct communities which will increase speeds in cities and provide the web to rural areas.
