Galaxy S4, The Next Android Top Smartphone Can Now be Pre Ordered Now!

The Samsung Galaxy S4 doesn’t hit shop shelves until 26 April, but if you just can’t wait to get hold of the full HD, turbo-charged Android smartphone, we’ve got good news for you: it’s now up for pre-order with your network of choice.
Vodafone, EE and Three have all now made the Samsung Galaxy S4 available for pre-order, as have stores Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U – and you can bet O2 won’t be far behind.
The networks are all trying to stand out in their own ways: EE is providing accessory packs worth £55 thrown in for pre-orderers, while Phones4U is offering up to £100 in Google Play vouchers for those who opt for a Samsung Galaxy S4 on EE 4G through the store.
If you can cope without 4G super speeds (or you don’t yet live in an area with LTE coverage), by far the best deal so far however is with Three, which is offering a free Samsung Galaxy S4 on a two year contract for £35 per month, with unlimited data, 500 minutes and 5,000 text messages.
In case you missed the hubbub earlier this month when the Samsung Galaxy S4 was revealed, it’s shaping up to be a true iPhone slayer, with a massive 1080p screen, quad-core processor and 13 megapixel camera, plus the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean on board.
Will it match the HTC One for skills though? We’ll let you know ASAP, so stay tuned for a full review soon. In the meantime, let us know where you’ll be getting yours in the comments below. [Source]

LTE Uk Service Provider EE Announces New Plans

Want to take advantage of blazing-fast LTE speeds in the UK? You better be prepared to drop a few dozen quid, each and every month. The nation's only LTE provider is clearly taking advantage of that exclusivity with gigantic tariffs, like £31 (about $50) per month for 3 gigs of SIM-only data (and "unlimited minutes and texts"). If you speed a lot of time pulling down content on your mobile, though, a new 20GB plan makes the carrier's pricing structure a bit easier to swallow. Customers who sign up for the new 12-month "super-user" plan between now and February 28th will pay £46 (about $73), while a smaller-cap 8GB offering will be available for £41 (about $65) each month. Keep in mind that these are SIM-only tariffs -- you'll pay much more if bundling in a smartphone subsidy. Still, if you have a need for mega bandwidth for home use or on the go, the price per gig of this new plan makes EE seem a bit more reasonable. You'll find a few more details in the PR after the break.

UK Retailer HMV Gets Help From The Record Companies To Keep Afloat

Major record labels are determined to see massive UK retailer HMV survive its current, admittedly dire financial predicament. The company last week hired an accountancy firm to assess the best way of selling off its assets — which include 239 physical stores. But powerful players in the music industry (including Universal Music, Warner Music, and Sony) are reportedly willing to offer potential buyers substantial credit incentives and discounted CDs / DVDs if it means keeping HMV in business on the UK high streets.
Why the sudden generosity? HMV's demise would be yet another unwelcome blow to industry profits: the collapse of another storied retailer would further shift music and video sales to the internet, a world of cutthroat competition where Amazon and Apple dominate mindshare thanks to basement-level pricing. Those prices prove popular with shoppers, but less so with labels and studios that still long for the days when consumers swarmed brick-and-mortar CD shops. There are reportedly over 50 suitors vying to take over HMV, so it seems all hope isn't lost just yet. [TheVerge]
