The KGI
Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who on numerous occasions offered accurate details
regarding Apple's product plans, issued a fresh research report earlier in the
week laying out his forecast for Apple's rumored iwatch device, the smart watch
everyone is talking about. In light of recent expectations that the unit would
launch in the later part of 2013, Kuo suggests that the software and hardware
issues can lead to the device making its introduction in the later part of next
year instead.
"Apple
may not have adequate resources to develop an iWatch version of iOS because it
may require big changes to iPhone and iPad iOS this year. In addition, wearable
device components aren’t mature. For these reasons, we think mass production of
the iWatch is more likely to begin in 2H14, not 2H13 as the market speculates."
