Google fights phishing with a new Chrome extension




No matter how sophisticated your security is, the biggest risk is always the same: users clicking the wrong links and submitting their passwords to the wrong websites. It's a tricky problem to solve, but Google has a new idea about how to fight it. Today, the company is unveiling a new Chrome extension called Password Alert, designed to serve as an early warning system against phishing attacks. "Phishing should be a real concern for everyone — journalists, activists, companies, or individuals," says Justin Kosslyn, a product manager at Google Ideas.
