When your friends are online, Facebook's chat list will now specify whether they're using a smartphone or regular desktop web browser. The new feature was first spotted by TechCrunch yesterday, and while Facebook initially described it as a test, the company has apparently since confirmed that the web / mobile chat status is currently being rolled out globally. It's not something that's going to change the way you use Facebook, but it's a helpful addition that should offer a better sense of just how available your friends are, and what type of conversation you can expect.
