Vodafone customers in the UK have been given the green light to update their iPhone 4S handsets now
that a new version of iOS 6.1.1 has cropped up. The update, which we reported
on yesterday, fixes the issue that kept some customers from being
able to connect to a network or to make and receive calls and text messages.
In an update on its forums, Vodafone assures its subscribers that
Apple's new iPhone software fixes those performance issues. "Please
download the latest version—iOS 6.1.1—from Apple as soon as you can as this
will deal with these issues,” urges Phil from the Vodafone Tech Team.
Vodafone had issued a warning in its forums to its UK
subscribers last week, cautioning against installing the iOS 6.1 update on an
iPhone 4S. The company went as far as to send out text messages to its
subscribers to ensure its customers were aware of the impacted 3G performance
brought on by the update. Fortunately, it looks like all has been improved.
The Jailbreak team Evad3rs have released an updated version (1.3) of the Evasi0n jailbreak in order to jailbreak iOS 6.1.1 released yesterday for the iPhone 4S only. [ArsTechnica]
