It has
been a long, long time since Samsung disclosed any unit shipment numbers
whatsoever for the phones they sell, therefore the tech news press gained momentum
Thursday as the company decided it was time to brag about something.
The
South Korean giant CEO Shin Jong-kyun stated to reporters at an industry
forum in Seoul he is confident shipments of the the companies new flagship
smartphone the Galaxy S4 will top 10M in a few weeks this is one month after
the unit started to be available to buy in 60 countries, including the U.S.,
Korea, China and India.
"That
could make the Galaxy S4 the fastest-selling selling Samsung smartphone in
history," the Korea Times reported, which echoed in the U.S. press.
That
sort of coverage must ring bells at Apple.
Because when
Apple (AAPL) reported last
September it sold 5 million iPhone 5 handsets in three days, analysts were "disappointment".
