Twitter Music, a new standalone iOS
music-discovery app based on wearehunted.com, is expected to launch at the Coachella
festival, most likely tomorrow, according to AllThingsD. Twitter acquired the music discovery
service wearehunted.com last
month.
The app integrates with third-party
music apps and services like iTunes and SoundCloud to allow you to listen to
clips of music it thinks you may like. Recommendations will be based on a
number of different criteria, one of them the Twitter feeds you follow, the
rest as yet unknown …
Early indications are that you’ll
only be able to listen to short clips in most players, as most of the
third-party music apps don’t have licences to play entire tracks not owned by
you, but it’s believed that the music video service Vevo will allow you to
watch complete music videos.
The Verge discovered a https://music.twitter.com/
webpage which asks you to authorise access for an app called Trending Music Web
– which seems unlikely to be the real name of the app.
And no, we
don’t know what it looks like – the image above is simply the interface to
wearehunted. [Source]
