Learn How to Take Close-up Photos of The Moon With an iPhone [Photo]

Star gazers and new astronomers could be shocked to know that, with the proper gear, the iPhone can be transformed to a great camera to photograph the moon. As  writen on his blog, Jared Earle discloses the surprising, easy steps needed to obtain beathtaking stills of the moon.
To begin with, you will require some sort of telescope to obtain such close-ups. Earle uses a Celestron C5. Then he uses the Magnifi adapter as an attachement for his iPhone 4S to the telescope. Once both bits of hardware are connected, Earle starts the Cortex Camera application (US$2.99) to take his pics. The app utilizes a large number of individual stills to put together one super sharp, noise free photo.
If you are hoping to take some very nice photos of the moon, Jared Earle's post is really a must-read. I especially like his tip about using Apple's heaphones sound remote control as a shutter button.
