Have You Ever Seen a Flying Car? Have a Look and Pre-Order Yours Now!

Taking off and flying in your everyday car is something that lots of people dream of, but the Terrafugia is determined to create that vision and make it real, using its latest flying machine that might help you with commuting to and from work right up in the clouds. Got a hundred or so thousand laying about?

The Terrafugia TF-X is their latest airborne car that is set to go to production soon, and could be the follow-up to the Terrafugia Transition that was revealed in 2009 and as a result set to go on-sale in 2015. The newest model is a lot more versatile compared to the previous model, as it's capable to take-off and land vertically because of the twin blades on edge of its wings which means you won't be needing your personal runway to lift off the ground. Beneath the hood, the TF-X is defined to utilize a plug-in hybrid powertrain, which the organization claims can get the hybrid flying at a speed of 200 mph much faster compared to the Transition, which maxes out at 115 mph.

If you're not the best pilot in the skies, the TF-X can assist you using its onboard intelligent autopilot and controls much like those present in your average car, meaning even though you're aweful at parallel parking, flying around should be described as a doddle: you only have to tell the machine where you want to fly to and the device will do the rest. The flying car is good for approximately 500 miles before you will need to refuel it, but if fuel comes to an end mid-flight, there's a good parachute to assist you in landing safely.

Sadly, the TF-X won't be making it's way into production until 2021, assuming there's no issues in development, but the previous model the Transition will undoubtedly be available to buy in 2015 for the tidy sum of £130,000 – plus the price tag on renting or building a runway. Still tempted? Head to Terrafugia's website and sign up.
