Full reveal expected at E3 2013
If the latest industry whispers are to be believed, development kits for the PlayStation 4 are currently being sent to game studios, ahead of a formal announcement at E3 2013.
Sony's next-generation console, codenamed Orbis, aims to spit out 1080p games in 3D at 60 frames per second with "no problem" at all. It will be powered by a combined CPU and GPU based on AMD's A10 APU series, and will contain a Blu-ray drive.
Sources told VG247 that the PS4 will be a machine fit for "today and tomorrow's market" - "very affordable" but by no means "a slouch."
A full unveiling is expected to take place next June in Los Angeles. [Spong]
